Now that your community has been created and branded, we're going to prepare your community to welcome new members.

When new members try to join your community, they will be greeted with a welcome page! This is an example of what that looks like, complete with a community description, rules and regulations, custom agreements, and more!

Welcome Set-up

We will begin customizing your Welcome page by heading to the Welcome Set-up page in your Community settings. From there, you will be able to customize the multiple fields you see in the example above.

Joining Requirements

When users attempt to join your Community, they will be asked to share their first name, last name, and email. Joining requirements allows you to control what your potential members have to share, and what information they can choose to keep private. For example, setting 'email' as a joining requirement would mean that potential members will be unable to opt-out from sharing their email, but would still be able to choose if they want to provide Community owners with their first or last name.

Community Description

Give your community a short description, this will help your potential members know what your community is all about!

Rules and Disclaimers

Rules and disclaimers help inform your community members what behaviors will, and will not be tolerated on your server. Potential members will need to verify that they have both read and agreed to your rules before they can proceed with joining your community.

To begin setup, Click on 'Set Up Rules and Disclaimers'. In the pop-up window, you'll be able to write your own rules or pick from a set of pre-written ones. Once you're satisfied with your list, click on 'Save.

You'll be able to see the list of Rules & Disclaimers you've just made! To set them live, simply click on 'Enable, and your members will not be required to agree to your terms before joining your community!

Custom Agreements

In addition to your Joining Requirements, Community Description, and Rules & Disclaimers, your potential members will also be presented with Terms of Service & Privacy Policy agreements. These agreements will appear both on your Welcome Page, and your Invite (Login/Register) screen!

You'll be able to set up Custom Terms of Service & Privacy Policy agreements that will be displayed above Genesiv's own agreements.

To set up your custom agreements, simply head to the Terms of Service & Privacy Policy pages, respectively, in your community settings. Input your custom agreements and click on save!

Once you've configured your custom agreements, your Welcome page should now be all ready to start accepting new members.
